May is a meaningful month at Montessori Kid’s Land Academy, filled with important school activities that bring families closer to their child’s learning journey in early childhood programs. With conferences, celebrations, and scheduled breaks, this period encourages strong communication between home and school while highlighting children’s growth and achievements throughout the year.
- Parent Teacher Conferences (May 11–13)
From Monday, May 11, to Wednesday, May 13, families are invited to participate in Parent Teacher Conferences. This scheduled time allows parents to meet with teachers to discuss progress, classroom participation, and developmental milestones. It is also a valuable opportunity to align home support with classroom learning and strengthen each child’s educational experience.
- Artist of the Month & Classroom Learning Focus
This month, children explore the work of Pablo Picasso, one of the most influential artists in modern art history. Through his creative style, children learn about shapes, perspective, and self-expression. Classroom lessons also include themes such as Mother’s Day, feelings, zoo animals, desert animals, and vacation time, giving children a wide range of engaging learning experiences across all rooms.
- Graduation Ceremony (May 22)
On Friday, May 22, the school will hold its Graduation Ceremony, a special occasion recognizing children’s progress and achievements. This celebration allows families to witness key milestones and honor the dedication children have shown throughout the year. It is a memorable event that highlights growth, confidence, and readiness for the next stage of learning.
- Memorial Day School Closure (May 25)
The school will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. This break gives families time to rest, reflect, and spend meaningful moments together outside the school environment.
- Important Reminders for Families
Families are encouraged to stay updated through school communications, including progress reports sent home in early May. Sign-ups for Parent Teacher Conferences will be available at the front desk starting May 6. Parents are also reminded to apply sunscreen at home for children in Rooms 1, 2, and 3 who arrive for early outdoor play, helping maximize learning and playtime without delay at Montessori Kids Land Academy in Redlands, California.
